Dosing of Synagis has begun. High-risk infants should be scheduled to receive
Synagis so that antibody levels are adequate to prevent bronchiolitis
when the RSV season is underway.
The AAP Red Book suggests starting Synagis dosing in November.
Some insurers in Idaho authorize Synagis dosing after November 15
in order to cover the usual RSV season with 5 monthly doses.
To determine high-risk infants who require Synagis see the page
“Synagis consensus criteria” and the 2006 AAP Red
Book.
